MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC) - It was a beautiful day to be outside and all the more reason to support a good cause.

Saturday morning the Memphis Rotary Club hosted the Rotary Ride for families, benefiting the Dorothy Day House of Hospitality.

Participants rolled out near Overton Park with the option to ride 50 or 30 miles with an ice cold milkshake at the Meeman-Shelby Forest State Park. The money raised at event will help pay for Dorothy Day House of Hospitality to host homeless families in Memphis.

"We have three families at Dorothy Day house at any time. Eight families want to try and get in the house on any given week, but we're doing what we can to move these families forward and get them out of homelessness," said Pierre Landaiche of the Rotary Club.

There was also a family friendly ride around Overton Park and a ghost rider option for people who wanted to support the cause but not ride.
