Kennesaw, GA -

(WMC) – FedEx confirms an early morning shooting at its Kennesaw, Georgia facility. The NBC affiliate WXIX is reporting that six people are injured and were taken to the hospital.

The shooting happened around 4:45 a.m. CT on Tuesday.

FedEx Spokesman Scott Fiedler said, "FedEx is aware of the situation. Our primary concern is the safety and wellbeing of our team members, first responders and others affected. FedEx is cooperating with authorities."

The suspect was found inside the building with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to authorities.

The facility was on lockdown while police searched for the suspect.
