SOUTHAVEN, MS -
(WMC) - Construction crews hit a two-inch gas line at Southaven Elementary School around 2 p.m., according to school officials.

It caused one hallway of students to be temporarily relocated to the elementary school's cafeteria while fire, police, and gas utility personnel assessed the situation and began the repair.

Fulwood Construction is the construction company building additional classrooms.

Buses and cars were directed to different locations on campus to pick up students upon dismissal.

The repair is expected to be completed Wednesday afternoon.
