A Better Mid-South: You can't be a bully or a racist

(WMC) - It's tough to understand why an NBA owner would make racist comments and think that's ok.

This week, the NBA fined Clippers owner Donald Sterling $2.5 million and banned him from the NBA for life after making racist comments caught on tape.

But can we turn this around and use it as a teachable moment?

You can't be a bully or a racist and just get away with it any more.

Let's use this terrible example to create better ones for the next generation.

If you have children or grandchildren old enough to understand what happened, talk to them about this story.

I want to know what you think about the Clippers owner controversy. Email me at abettermidsouth@wmctv.com or go on Facebook and like my page. You can leave me a message and I'll catch up with you on Facebook.

Let's keep the conversation going. Fighting racism and teaching our children these life lessons will make this A Better Mid-South and a Better World.
