(WMC) – Around 12:10 a.m. Friday, Memphis police officers received a call of a home invasion robbery in a Hickory Hill neighborhood near the intersection of Kirby Parkway and East Shelby Drive.

When officers got to the scene, they saw three suspects run from the house. Two of the three suspects were taken into custody. The third suspect is still on the loose.

After investigating, officers discovered that four suspects reportedly forced their way into the house, attempting to rob the people inside. The family was able to make its way upstairs and barricade themselves inside of a room where they called police.

The MPD TACT Unit was able to get the family, two adults and four children, safely out of the home.

The home invasion has other people in the neighborhood worried about their safety. They want to see police step up their patrols in the area.

"When night time rolls around, we pretty much have to go in the house, because we don't know what's gonna happen," said Leroy Hale.

Willie Malone agrees, "You see guys walking up and down the block all the time. You don't know what they got on their mind."

Neighbors say they hope this recent crime will serve as a reminder to police to increase routine patrols in the area.
