CRENSHAW COUNTY, AL (WSFA) -
Three years have passed since the murder of a Crenshaw County man and the family still has no answers.

Officials found 25 year old DeLange Harris on a dirt road in Crenshaw County on May 3, 2011. On the anniversary, loved ones held a vigil for Harris. After three years, family say the pain remains and it makes it even more difficult with the case still unsolved.

Harris was found in a ditch off Athens Church Road.Officials say the 25 year old was shot in the back of the head. Family says all they want is justice and they are pleading for your help.

Talking directly to those that know what happened, Apredee Harris, DeLange's sister said, "that they will speak, that they will bring about a consciousness of right. Understand that they know what is right and they know what is wrong and they may be afraid, but fear has no place here. We need not to be cowardice anymore, but do what we are suppose to do and that is to make a stand. For if you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything."

Investigators say no one has been charged and there's not even suspect in the case. Officials say there is some good news. They tell WSFA 12 News, they do have some new leads and persons of interest. Even though it's been three years, they say they can't view this as a cold case and they continually work on it to find who killed Harris.

Crenshaw County Investigator Michael Johnson says, "this is still ongoing. The family needs closure and they need to put this behind them. We haven't given up and we aren't going to give up. We are going to do our best and do whatever we can to get it solved."

Investigators are hoping people who have information will come forward and believe a reward may help bring new information to light. Officials have increased the reward to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those involved in Harris' murder.

If you have any information, you are asked to call Crenshaw County Sheriff's Office at 334-335-6568.
