KINGSPORT, TN (WJHL) - His sense of fashion may be described as unique: orange toboggan, white sunglasses, a black bandana, and a red coat

But his choice of crime is becoming quite common in the Tri-Cities - robbing a pharmacy with the goal of getting prescription drugs.

Kingsport Police hope surveillance video will help trigger a tip that leads to an arrest of News Channel 11's Monday's Most Wanted.

On March 25th around 3 p.m., a man walked through the front door of the CVS Pharmacy on Highway 126 and approached the pharmacy counter.

He was apparently unaware that surveillance cameras were pointed right at the entrance because police said he waited to pull a bandana over his face until seconds before he made his intentions clear.

"When he approached the pharmacist he made threats that he had a firearm, and he actually threw a bag at the pharmacist for the medications to be placed into," said  Det. Justin McConnell, Kingsport Police Department.  "The pharmacist complied and the male left out of the store."

While McConnell says investigators don't have all the information they'd like on the CVS robber, they're pretty convinced of one thing - he's not a nice guy.

"I would say the suspect in this is dangerous because, even though a gun wasn't displayed at the robbery, he was making threats that he had a gun," McConnell said.   "He even made the statement to the pharmacist that he would blow his head off if he didn't comply.".

The decision to cover his face after he walked up to the counter helped Kingsport Police identify a possible suspect, but investigators hope a tip from News Channel 11 viewers will give them definitive information that will lead to an arrest.

"We're just asking anyone that might have any information about who this person is to contact the police department and help with the investigation."
