Southaven police seek help finding missing teenager

(WMC) - Southaven police are asking for help from the public to find a missing young girl.

Family members say that 16-year-old Cesily Waldrop was last seen over a week ago and does not have her asthma medicine.

In an interview with WMC Action News 5, Cesily's mother had a desperate plea for help.

Peggy Waldrop says her 16-year-old daughter, Cesily, did not want to live after her grandmother died in April. Cesily's father died five years ago.

Waldrop has not seen her daughter for a week and a half. Southaven police have contacted missing and exploited children to help find the teen.

"She told me Nana's not here and I don't want to be here either. It scared me when she said that I mean my heart just dropped," said Waldrop.

The last time she saw her was when the teen was headed to the bus stop about two blocks from her home. Cesily never made it to school.

Waldrop is also concerned because her daughter does not have her asthma medication, which she needs. Police have contacted teachers and friends but have seen no sign of the teen.

"It's just hard not knowing where she is. I'm worried," added Waldrop.

Waldrop worries her daughter could have met someone online, adding that Cesily would not leave her guinea pig Pebbles.

"I couldn't believe all that I seen. She was talking to people on Facebook she didn't even know," said Waldrop.

If you know where Cesily Waldrop is or know anything about her disappearance call DeSoto County Crime Stoppers at 662-429-8477.
