MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC) - A Memphis Area Transit Authority passenger held a woman by the neck at knife point on a bus as it arrived at the north terminal in Downtown Memphis on Wednesday.

"What would you do if I rape you and knife you?," said 53-year-old Anthony Moss to another passenger, according to the police report.

The 50-year-old woman cursed back at him and put on her headphones. Witnesses say he grabbed her by the throat and started choking her. She fought back.

His anger escalated. He took out a knife and put it to the woman's throat, then he stood up and elbowed her in the face.

The woman was not cut as the disorderly passenger reportedly attacked her.

When the bus arrived at the terminal located at 444 N. Main Street, the driver flagged down security. Police later booked Moss into the Shelby County Jail.

This comes one day after a security guard at the same MATA terminal pushed a 68-year-old passenger, who was critically injured from the fall.
