NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A convicted felon accused of killing a man during a drug deal in Nashville has been taken into custody.

Bruce Dewayne Moore, 29, is accused in the drug-related shooting of 36-year-old Michael Weaver Jr. that happened on May 24.

Police say Weaver had asked his friend to drive him to a drug deal, and when the pair got to the intersection of 14th Avenue North and Underwood Street, someone got in the back seat of the car and demanded cash from Weaver.

Weaver was shot during the robbery and was taken to the hospital by a friend, where he later died.

According to detectives, Moore is suspected to be the gunman in this case and fingerprint evidence has been found that links him to the crime.

Moore is facing charges of criminal homicide, attempted aggravated robbery and unlawful gun possession by a convicted felon.

Police say Moore turned himself in on Sunday afternoon after he learned detectives were looking for him.

Moore was previously convicted of possessing cocaine for resale and received a four-year probated sentence in 2008.
