MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC) - The PGA resumed play at the FedEx St. Jude Classic at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday after suspending competition earlier in the afternoon.

Play was suspended at 1:15 p.m. Thursday due to a storm moving through Memphis.

To keep spectators safe, officials will not open the tournament to them late Thursday afternoon for fear that more storms could come through.

Players are warming up on the course. Eight groups from the morning tee times have not finished, and 36 players have yet to get started.

The tournament will go until dark tonight with hopes of completing the first round. In the event that the first round is not finished, players will finish the first and second rounds on Friday.
