MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC) - Guilty. On Saturday, that is the verdict the jury handed to a Memphis man charged with killing the mother of his child and her parents.

On Sunday, Sedrick Clayton was sentenced to death.

After days of testimony, jurors reached their decision in Sedrick Clayton's triple murder trial on Saturday

Clayton stood almost motionless as he listened to his fate. Jurors convicted him of the January 2012 triple murder of Shea Fisher, Clayton's girlfriend, and her parents Ricky and Patricia Fisher.

The shootings happened after what Clayton described to investigators as a physical incident at the Fisher home that left him feeling threatened.

Ricky Fisher's brother and several other relatives were allowed to give victim impact statements about how the murders are affecting them.

"This has been difficult for me," said Oddye Fisher.

Through their tears, relatives told the story about how the murders, and grieving that has followed, have devastated their family.

Clayton's attorney, Gerald Skahan, described the evidence against his client as overwhelming.

"We gave it our best shot, but the evidence was just there against us," said Skahan. "It's a terrible case there's no winner in this case either way."
