LEE COUNTY, GA (WALB) -

The "Wishes for Wendy" fundraiser was in full swing today with a baseball tournament that helped support a mother recovering from a liver transplant.

Wendy Holloman has spent the last few days in Jacksonville undergoing surgery. Meanwhile back home in Leesburg, her daughters along with family friends are fundraising to help get her back on her feet.

Daughter Marlee says its been overwhelming to see people come out and give their time.

It was this afternoon when she got the call that helped her breathe a little easier.

"I actually just talked to my daddy, she is actually eating right now, she's happy and alert. And we are just so thankful for everyone's prayers and concerns, everyone's encouraging words. My family really does appreciate it," Holloman said.

Holloman said it could take up to 8 weeks until her mother will be able to come home.
