ATLANTA (CBS46) -

Police are investigating a shooting at a trucking facility in southeast Atlanta in which a security guard shot two suspected burglars.

Officers responded to Forest Park Road at about 11:30 p.m. Sunday on a report of a person shot. When they arrived, they found a pick-up truck in the middle of the road. In the passenger seat, they found a man approximately in his 40s, dead from apparent gunshot wounds, police said.  He was later identified as 41-year old Roderick Anderson.

Around the corner on Rebel Forest Drive, police found a younger man suffering from gunshot wounds. Paramedics rushed him to Grady Memorial Hospital. Authorities did not reveal his condition. They believe the younger man had been behind the wheel of the pick-up truck and that he tried to run, but collapsed.

Officers quickly learned that a security guard shot the two men during a confrontation. The guard apparently caught the men trying to break into a nearby trucking facility. Police would not identify the trucking facility.

"We still have a lot of work to do to try to actually verify where the incident occurred," said Capt. Paul Guerrucci of the Atlanta Police Department. "It's a very complex scene, multiple locations where the victims ended up, so still got a lot of work to do."
