Sheriff's deputy indicted for Beale Street shooting

MEMPHIS, TN -
(WMC) - Pontotoc County Sheriff's deputy John Logan has been indicted on two counts of aggravated assault and one county of employing a firearm to commit a felony.

Logan is accused of shooting Mark Martinez on Beale Street in April 2014 after the two got into a fight.

Following the shooting, Logan planned to file charges against Martinez.

Deputy Logan was arrested Friday. He has since been released on bond. He is also on unpaid administrative leave following the indictment.
