(WMC) - Former Tiger Geron Johnson is one of 6 players taking part in the Grizzlies fourth pre-draft workout.
The 6'4 guard is coming off a senior season in which he averaged 8.9 points and 4.9 rebounds a game for the Tigers.
Johnson, known for his athleticism and fierce defense, has worked out for 6 teams so far, and has another 2 scheduled before next week's draft.
His name is not a lock to be called on Thursday, but he believes he's improved his stock everywhere he's gone.
"I can play above the rim," Johnson said. "I'm one of the most athletic guys in the country. I look the part, so as they say, just do what I can to bring to the table and play basketball. It's not all out there on the net because the other teams don't want it. When I leave these workouts, believe me, I'm on the radar. Believe me."
"I thought Geron Johnson was terrific," said Grizzlies Coach Dave Joerger. "I really fell in love with him today. His energy level, his ability to defend, certainly he's athletic. If he keeps working at it, he'll get where he wants to go."
Also in for a look, 6'7 small forward Cleanthony Early out of Wichita State and 6'7" forward Glenn Robinson III from Michigan.
Robinson, a late first round projection, averaged 14 points and 4 rebounds as a sophomore for the Wolverines last season. Early, projected as an early second round pick, averaged 16 points and 6 rebounds as a senior for the top ranked Shockers.
