NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A Kroger employee is in jail because police say she gave more than $1,000 worth of gas to her friends for free.

Police say 20-year-old Victoria Robinson, who worked as a fuel clerk at the Kroger on Clarksville Pike, gave her friends about $1,100 worth of free gas between April and June.

Kroger's loss prevention team noticed that gas wasn't being paid for and confronted Robinson.

Police say Robinson admitted to the crime earlier this month.

Because the gas was worth more than $1,000, Robinson is charged with felony theft. She has not posted bond at this time.
