The suspect in a 2013 murder who was added to the TBI's Top Ten Most Wanted list on Monday has been arrested.

Metro police said 25-year-old Rodrecus Smith was found hiding in a closet at a home on Cheyenne Boulevard in Madison. He was taken into custody without incident around 6 a.m. Wednesday.

Smith was wanted on first-degree murder and aggravated robbery charges in connection to the shooting that killed 35-year-old Mario McKnight on Oct. 30, 2013.

Police say McKnight was killed while riding in the back of a dry cleaning van near 12th Avenue South and Argyle Avenue. McKnight and the driver are believed to have been trying to flee a street robbery that was connected to a dice game, according to officials.

Martez Parham, 22, is charged with being an accessory after the fact in the case and was arrested in April.

Smith is also charged with felony probation violation, domestic assault, vandalism and failure to appear in court on a prior arrest for gun possession by a convicted felon, drug possession and resisting police.

He was convicted on two counts of aggravated assault, one count of reckless endangerment and one count of vehicle theft in 2012.

Smith will be booked into the Davidson County jail without bond, according to the TBI.
