Draft Range (Compilation of 6 ESPN, Draft Express, CBSSports, and NBADraftNet mock drafts):
Mock Drafts Projecting to Grizzlies: 0/6
Take him: Long (7-foot-3 wingspan) and athletic, Grant is an interesting prospect with good bloodlines (both his father, Harvey, and his uncle, Horace played in the NBA). Grant improved around the rim this season for Syracuse, and is one of the most purely athletic small forwards in the draft.
Don't take him: The Grizzlies need offense and he's not yet developed as a scorer. He's also extremely skinny for his size. The Grizzlies need a small forward who can extend his range, and Grant only took five threes all of last season.
Notes: Worked out for the Grizzlies. Almost exclusively played power forward in college at Syracuse. Grizzlies interim GM Chris Wallace mentioned Adreian Payne as a power forward with range that caught his eye. Payne is projected to be drafted before the Grizzlies pick at 22, with his range going from 9 to 21.
