(WMC) - Welcome the newest Grizzly, Jordan Adams, who brings a scoring punch the Grizzlies will need this season.
"I think my game is a scoring, savvy player who can shoot the ball really well," said Adams.
Adams squashed concerns about his weight and athleticism, dropping 20 pounds in the off season.
"What I did to drop the weight is committed myself, got focused and realized this a real job."
Joining Adams is a local star, former Central and Southwind forward Jarnell Stokes from University of Tennessee.
The Grizzlies traded a 2016 second round pick to Utah for the rights to Stokes at the 35th pick.
"Jarnell is going to be able to come in and be an energy guy and a banger. I think he is excited to show that he has more to his game than just being a rebounder," said Grizzlies head coach Dave Joerger.
Stokes will be playing in the very same arena that his family holds season tickets.
"It's just surreal right now to be able to wear a Memphis jersey, when I was just two or three years ago, a fan," said Stokes.
For the rest of the fans, Adams and Stokes will be expected to contribute right away.
"Wherever I fit in, I'm going to come in and try to compete," said Adams.
"I just want to fit in, find a niche, find something I can do well to help the team," said Stokes.
The Grizzlies were actually debating between the two before last night.
"We're in there splitting hairs between these guys for the 22nd pick, and we're able to come up with Jarnell," said Grizzlies interim GM Chris Wallace.
In the end, the Grizzlies got their man. And their other man.
