(WMC-TV) - Grizzlies backup point guard Nick Calathes is in talks with Greek team Panathinaikos.
Sportando reported Panathinaikos and CSKA Moscow both offered Calathes 6.5 million over three years to return to Europe.
Calathes is still under a non-guaranteed team-option for next season for about $816,000.
For Calathes to be able to go back to Europe, the Grizzle would have to release him from his contract, and according to what interim GM Chris Wallace and head coach Dave Joerger have said the past couple weeks, that doesn't look like it's going to happen.
The Grizzlies have until July 15 to pick up Calathes' option.
Calathes is suspended for the first 13 games of the 2014 NBA season after testing positive for Tamoxifen.
