ROANOKE (WSLS) - Summer is officially here! Hot weather means high bills for air conditioning, but one man gave us an easy solution. It's a new take on what some call a "swamp cooler," and it's getting a lot of attention online.

According tot he video, all you need is a miniature or portable fan, an L-shaped piece of PVC pipe, a cooler and a block of ice.

The video's narrator explains and demonstrates how to create the air conditioner. He cuts two holes in the top of the cooler - one hole the size of the pipe and one the size of the fan.

He places a block of ice into the cooler, fits the pipe into place and places the fan, face-down into place. After turning on the fan, voila! The fan blows air across the block of ice inside the cooler and out through the pipe.

A thermometer held in front of the pipe shows temperatures ranging from 40-55°F.

According to the YouTube video's description, the block of ice will last up to 5 hours, depending on temperature and climate conditions.
