(WMC) - 50 window air conditioning units are available for low-income seniors.

Memphis, Light, Gas and Water is teaming up with Neighborhood Christian Center for the "Play It Cool" initiative.

"Play It Cool" provides free air conditioning units to seniors and disabled residents in Shelby County.

Neighborhood Christian Center will host a screening and application process for the 50 available units on Tuesday, July 8. The event will be held at 785 Jackson Avenue between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m.

All applicants should bring a Tennessee state ID to verify age and address, a social security income statement or recent pay stub to verify income and any disability verification information.
