(WMC) - Police are searching for 33-year-old Michael Glover, who is accused of sexually assaulting a teenager.

The victim's mother says she is distraught after catching her boyfriend trying to rape her 17-year-old daughter.

WMC Action News 5 made the decision to conceal the mother's identity for her daughter's protection.

"I got this gut feeling to just detour and go back by the house," she said.

The woman says she knew something was wrong when she tried to contact her boyfriend, Glover, but could not reach him. He was at the house with her son and daughter. Calls to his cell phone went unanswered, she said.

"I get my key in the door when I enter the house, I'm still calling, walking through the house" the mother said.

Her son was asleep upstairs.

"The minute I open up my daughter's bedroom door, I see Mr. Glover jump up, and pull his pants up, and hide behind my daughter's bedroom door," she said.

The mother said she immediately grabbed a lamp and snapped.

"I got a little black mark on my finger from swinging the lamp at him. I cracked the lamp across the back of his head. I swung a good three or four times," she said.

When she was on the phone with 911, she says Glover got away. She says her daughter is hysterical.

"She was trying to fight him off," the mother said.

The mother says she is disgusted and blames herself for what happened.

"Please do your homework. It's a lot of people that say who they are ... They are not who they say they are," she said.

The family says Glover has been evading police since the incident happened. Police are asking anyone with information on Glover's whereabouts to contact them at 901-528-CASH.
