(WMC) - A major drug bust conducted by Shelby County Sheriff's Office garnered dozens of guns and several pounds of marijuana.

Deputies arrested David Prentice after they found he had marijuana, hash oil, and four assault weapons in his possession. He also had marijuana butter that he may have intended to sell.

"There's an array of weapons here that run from a .38 caliber pistol, all the way up to a 308 assault rifle, which is extremely dangerous and requires a metal plate along with a vest to stop it," said Sheriff Bill Oldham.

The sheriff's office is working with Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) to determine whether the weapons had been stolen.

Prentice is a convicted felon and is now charged with four serious weapons charges.
