UPDATE: After this article was published, Mike Miller took to Instagram to say he would not be returning with Grizzlies.
(WMC) - With four-time NBA MVP LeBron James shaking up the basketball world with the return to Cleveland, the aftershock can be felt all the way in Memphis.
Grizzlies sharpshooter Mike Miller, a 2-time NBA champion with James in Miami, is talking with the Cleveland Cavaliers, WMC Action News 5 confirmed with sources close to Miller. The story was first reported by ESPN's Marc Stein.
Miller spent the early part of the week being courted by the Nuggets, but held firm that he wanted to stay in Memphis. Denver's draw was their ability to add a third year to Miller's contract, something that was a point of contention with Memphis according to those close to Miller.
Stein reported Friday that talks with the Nuggets are halted, but Miller's camp says the Nuggets are "not out."
Miller is due to receive $6.2 million from the Miami Heat next season as part of his amnesty deal, on top of the contract he'll get with the team that signs him.
The Memphis Grizzlies have $4.2 million remaining in salary cap space until they reach the luxury tax line.
