Grizzlies sign NBA's 25th all-time leading scorer

MEMPHIS, TN -
(WMC) - Eight-time NBA All-Star Vince Carter is joining the Memphis Grizzlies.

Carter signed a multi-year contract and will spend his 17th NBA season in Memphis. Sources tell Yahoo Sports Carter signed a three-year deal worth $12 million.

Carter was drafted by the Golden State Warriors in the first round of the 1998 NBA Draft after a three-year career at the University of North Carolina.

He's the 25th best scorer in NBA history (23,190), with the seventh most three-point field goals of all time.

Last season, Carter averaged 11.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.6 assists coming off the bench in Dallas. He shot .407 from the field, .394 from three-point range, and .821 from the free throw line.

Carter will be asked to fill the offensive gap left by Mike Miller who averaged 7.1 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game last year.
