MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC) - Teachers can get their dog or cat vaccinated for cheap Saturday morning.

The Humane Society of Memphis and Shelby County (HSMSC) is hosting the event to honor our great teachers.

"Usually we focus our Project STOP efforts on low-income individuals," Alexis Amorose, the executive director at HSMSC, said. "But once a year we also host an event for some special, deserving group within the Memphis community, and this year we chose teachers."

Project STOP provides low-cost vaccinations, spays/neuters, or microchips to pet owners in need.

Saturday from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. teachers can take advantage of the program. They must bring a school ID or pay stub to qualify for the $5 vaccination.

This event is happening at the HSMSC facility at 935 Farm Road.
