Authorities search for suspects in two cases

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Authorities in the Capital City are looking for suspects in two cases that took place last week.

Just after midnight on Thursday, Jackson police responded to a shooting at the Arbor Park Apartments on Shaw Road.

Officer Colendula Green said a 26-year-old man was shot in the right leg while trying to break up an altercation.

Our crew saw several shell casings in the parking lot from this shooting.

No details have been released about the suspect in this case, but that individual remains at large.

Less than two hours after that shooting, bullets went flying again, this time from a homeowner after three men tried to break into his house.

The incident happened in the 800 block of Myrtlewood Drive in Jackson.

Three suspects demanded money, grabbed the homeowner's gun, and pistol-whipped him with it.
But he got the gun back and shot two of the men.

The third got away in one of the homeowner's vehicles, then left the vehicle on Belvedere Street.

That man is also being sought by law enforcement.

If you have any information for any of these cases, please contact Jackson Police or Crimestoppers at 601-355-TIPS.
