JACKSON COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A Jackson man was arrested for drugs Sunday evening in the continuing joint crime crackdown by the Hinds County Sheriff's Department and Jackson Police Department.

Sheriff's Department spokesman Othor Cain said 41-year-old Anthony Demond Thompson, aka "Koolaid" was taken into custody Sunday at his home on Kirkley Drive in North Jackson.

Officers confiscated five pounds of high grade marijuana, scales, cell phones, and a hand gun.

Thompson is charged with being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

A tip led authorities to the arrest.

This joint bust by the Hinds S.O. Narcotic and Jackson Police Department Narcotics Division continues their three week operation to crack down on crime in the capital city.
