MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC) - Two cars were set on fire, and someone was shot early Monday morning on Vollintine Avenue.

The man who was shot was taken to Regional Medical Center in non-critical condition.

A neighbor, who has lived on the street for 40 years, described what she heard around 3 a.m.

"I heard a lot of gunshots, and I sat straight up in bed because my two granddaughters are spending the night with me," said neighbor Verona Travers. "Checked because they were in the bed with me to make sure they were OK."

There were other people, including several children, inside the home where the man was shot.
