Supertyphoon Rammasun makes landfall in China

HAINAN PROVINCE, CHINA (CCTV/CNN) - Southern China is feeling the force of Typhoon Rammasun.

The storm is hammering that region after leaving 38 dead in the Philippines.

The China Meteorological Administration has characterized it as a super typhoon, packing winds over 100 mph.

It made landfall in southern China earlier Friday and is on track to continue its trek northwest.
