(WMC) – WMC Action News 5 Superintendents Week continues with Dr. William Bibb from Tipton County Schools discussing some changes parents and students should expect.

"We have a new student management system. It's going to be an enhanced system for parents to access student information through the Internet," Bibb explained. "It just entails a login for parents to go in and look and see how their student is doing as far as their grades are going and attendance things of that nature."

Bibb has been are part of WMC Action News 5 Superintendents Week for the last four years. It seems as if the story from Tipton County Schools always concerns growth.

Bibb said, "We've recently had our registration. We're up about 230 students registered from outside of Tipton County. But hopefully, we have enough space in our schools now to accept the growth."

He also discussed goals and expectations for the school year.

"Well our mission … if you take about three things out of our mission statement, one is student safety. We're always focused on keeping our kids safe. The second thing is success. Our graduation rate is about 98 percent. Two of our high schools have been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as being some of the best high schools in America. We just graduated 800 students, class of 2014. And those 800 students have been awarded more than $15 million in college scholarships. So we're proud of our students and the accomplishments they've had."

Tipton County Schools begin with a half-day of classes on August 4, with full days starting August 7.
