Woman accused of embezzling from PTO arrested

FRANKLIN, TN (WSMV) -

A woman accused of stealing thousands of fundraising dollars from a school in Williamson County has been arrested.

Billie Sue Barker is accused of embezzling more than $20,000 from Hillsboro Elementary/Middle School in Leiper's Fork.

Police said Barker had been working as the school's PTO treasurer for the past year, but was fired when the school discovered the missing money.

Barker is being held on a $50,000 bond. Police said she could face more charges.
