Victims identified in Dillon County fatal accident

DILLON COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - Three people have died in a car accident in Dillon County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

A Chevrolet Impala was driving north on Highway 301 when it drove off the left side of the roadway and hit a tree. 

The South Carolina highway Patrol said that five people were in the car. The driver, the front seat passenger and one sitting in the backseat were killed. 

Derrick Baker, Jr., 18, Andrew Hill, 18, and Wesley Chavis, 23, all of Fairmont, NC died due to the accident, according to Dillon County Coroner Donnie Grimsley.

The accident occurred Saturday 4:15 a.m.

That accident is being investigated by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
