COLLIERVILLE, TN (WMC) - This will be the product everybody buys their favorite coffee fiend for the holidays.
, $20, is a 16 oz. tumbler (also comes in a clear plastic model for water, tea or juice) that sports "smart grip" technology. Its base is designed to enable suction cup-like friction side-to-side, but not up and down. It lifts naturally, but it won't spill.
The coffee crowd at
, 103 N. Center St. in Collierville, raved over it as the Mighty Mug would wiggle and wobble but wouldn't fall down -- then lift easily from table to mouth.
"That's fantastic," barista Meg Saunders said . "I would have saved my laptop many times."
It has to be used on a flat, solid, immobile surface. It will not work on a porous or uneven surface, like Square Beans Coffee's outdoor iron-chain tables.
But if it ever fails or breaks, even if it's the user's fault, the Mighty Mug's maker will replace it at no cost.
Put it this way: when we discover a product is a Wise Buy, we traditionally give it to the business or person with whom we test it.
I kept the Mighty Mug.
