MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - John "Bull" Bramlett died Thursday morning in Memphis, according to Shelby County Mayor's Office.
According to his official website, Bramlett was born in Memphis in July, 1941. He attended Humes High School.
Bramlett was also a Memphis Tiger; he played baseball and football. He played in the National Football League from 1965 through 1971 and was a two-time NFL All-Pro Linebacker.
After his retirement from the NFL, he became a Christian evangelist. Bramlett spoke to hundreds of organizations for the past 40 years.
A movie about his life called Taming the Bull: The John Bramlett Story was shown in September at the Malco Collierville Cinema.
