'Blacklist' actor visits Memphis for movie screening

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - If you're a fan of the NBC hit show The Blacklist then you know actor Harry Lennix.

Lennix, who portrays FBI Agent Harold Cooper, was in Memphis Saturday for the screening of his latest film "Romeo and Juliet in Harlem" at the Indie Memphis Film Festival.

He stopped by the WMC Action News 5 studio on the way to the Hattiloo Theater to talk about The Blacklist.

"I knew that James Spader was going to be playing the part. I knew what a great ability he has in terms of language, in terms of you could see him thinking on screen, and I just knew that he would approach the role with great relish," Lennix said.

Lennix says he was also drawn to the story; how a relationship between an agent and a criminal was going to work.

And that's what we all want to know about The Blacklist, which you can watch right here on WMC Action News 5. A new episode will air Monday after The Voice.
