DALLAS, TX (WMC) - It was a true road test for the Memphis Tigers, as they traveled to Dallas to face an SMU team that has beaten them three of the last four times at Moody Coliseum.
Memphis played without Kuran Iverson, who was suspended and is likely done with the Tigers. Nick King was also out nursing a sore ankle. Trashon Burrell also did not play.
D'marnier Cunningham had 10 points for Memphis and Austin Nichols led with 11 points, but the Tigers fell, 73-59.
The Tigers had no answer for Markus Kennedy, who sat out the first half of the season because of academic issues.
Kennedy was responsible for 13 first half points, and finished with a game high of 21.
SMU shot 51 percent for the game to take down Memphis.
The Tigers are now 8-6 overall, 1-2 in the AAC.
Memphis will play at Houston on Sunday.
