MEMPHIS, TN (AP) - For the second time in one week, police say a violent crime started on Facebook.
Prosecutors charged 61-year-old David Conner with aggravated assault on Friday. Memphis police officers say he stabbed his 36-year-old girlfriend in the leg, upset because she was talking to someone else online.
"Everyone just kind of posted whatever they want on Facebook and a lot of people don't know how to handle that," said Conner's neighbor, Kala Bing.
Conner did not answer his door on Friday.
Earlier this week in Hernando, Mississippi, investigators say the town's first murder in nearly 20 years also started online.
There, 21-year-old Jasmine Smith died after police say she was stabbed by her 19-year-old cousin, Tomeshia Odom. Family members say what started behind a computer screen ended in a deadly fight.
