MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - A 19-year-old man has been charged in a Friday afternoon shooting that killed one teen and injured two others. The shooting happened at the intersection of Deadrick and David in Orange Mound.

Memphis police arrested 19-year-old Corey Groves Saturday morning. He's charged with one count of voluntary manslaughter and two counts of aggravated assault.

Groves is accused of shooting and killing 17-year-old Cyle Canada. Police say he also allegedly shot a 15 year old and 18-year-old Melvin Wilkins, both now recovering.

Witnesses say the three victims were walking home when the shooting happened.

Loved ones of 17-year-old Canada held a candlelight vigil in his memory Saturday night.

"His future was so bright. He had so much that he could have accomplished," said family member Torsha Johnson.

Canada was a senior at Central High School. His family says he loved playing basketball and had big dreams.

"When I found out, I was like, I couldn't do nothing about it. It was a slap in the face for life," said Jamal Maxwell, Canada's childhood friend.

Torsha Johnson says the Canada family just recently buried Cyle's great-grandfather.

Police have not yet released a motive in the shooting.

Funeral plans are now being arranged for Canada.
