Elderly couple left shaken after being robbed at gunpoint

Neighborhood on high alert following robbery

GERMANTOWN, TN (WMC) - A Germantown neighborhood is on edge after a crook threatened a couple's life before robbing them inside of their own home.

Police say someone followed the woman to her house in 6900 block of Great Oaks Road, located in the Poplar Estates neighborhood, entered the home, and held a gun to her head. The suspect then left with the woman's purse, which contained her wallet and cell phone.

"He grabbed my shoulder and pushed me in with the gun," said the victim. "He was holding the gun to my face and when we got in he pointed the gun and he kept saying 'wallet, wallet, all I want is your wallet.'"

The suspect reportedly told the woman and her husband to get down on the ground in their kitchen, and hold their hands out front. He then stepped on the woman's back, grabbed her purse, and ran.

"He stepped on my back and, I really didn't realized what he was doing, but my purse was in back of me and the foot was in back of me and he grabbed my purse and he was gone," noted the victim.

He got away with a Louis Vuitton purse, her wallet, and cell phone and maybe most importantly, her sense of security.

"It's the first I've ever seen a gun in my life, I've never seen a gun in my life," the victim said. "He didn't have to do that, if he really would have just asked for money, I'd have given it to him. He didn't have to point a gun at us."

At this point police don't have much of a description, only that the suspect was wearing a dark knit hat, had a covered face, and was wearing dark clothing.

However, a neighbor saw an older pick-up truck with layers of blue and white leave the scene. They told police the truck had silver trim on the top of the back truck bed.
