There's no doubt his new teammates are excited about the possibilities. The Grizzlies are back to practice after a much needed day off Monday, albeit a little short handed.
Tayshaun Prince and Quincy Pondexter are already on their way to their new teams, while Green will join the team in Brooklyn. Green brings athleticism and the ability to create off the dribble, as evidenced by his 17.6 points per game in Boston, something his new teammates are excited about.
"I think he's going to add a dynamic we haven't had over the last couple of seasons," said point guard Mike Conley. "With his athleticism and ability to stretch the floor, we're excited to hopefully get him here."
Grizzlies shooting guard Courtney Lee played with Jeff Green for roughly a season and a half and has a good feel for the type of game Green will bring to Memphis.
"I think he's an underrated defender because of his length and ability that he's able to guard two through four on the offensive end," said Lee. "I mean he's a guy capable of knocking down outside shots, posting up, getting to the rim and finishing with authority. So (he's) definitely going to help our team."
