Extra security at middle school after threat found on bathroom wall

SHELBY COUNTY, TN (WMC) - Parents and students will see extra security at Mt. Pisgah Middle School in Cordova after a staff member discovered a threat written on a bathroom wall Tuesday night.

The school sent a letter home with students explaining what happened.

According to the letter, the message written on the wall referenced a shooting. As a precaution, the school reported it to Shelby County Schools security and Shelby County Sheriff's Office.

On Wednesday morning, metal detectors were used at the school when students arrived.

No weapons were found and classes were held as normal. The school will have extra officers on campus as a precaution.
