MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - A Memphis nightclub was evacuated after one person was shot early Monday morning following a rap concert.

The shooting happened at Eclipse in the 4500 block of Getwell Road around 3 a.m. A concert promoter says thousands of people turned out to see Louisiana rapper Kevin Gates perform.

A family member says 25-year-old Markil Gayden was arguing with a man who touched his girlfriend. That's when the other man, identified by police as Jason McNeary, 27, pulled out a gun. Gayden and his girlfriend reportedly got into a car to leave and that's when the suspect fired shots into the car.

When police arrived on the scene, the security guard had McNeary in custody. The shooting victim was taken to Regional Medical Center in non-critical condition.

Neither the concert promoter or the club's owner would comment on the shooting. On Facebook, though, the promoter said 3,000 people were in attendance at the concert.

McNeary is charged with four counts of aggravated assault. He is due in court Tuesday morning.
