Good afternoon!

Here's a look at what's most popular on our website right now, what we're working on in the WMC Action News 5 newsroom, and what's on tap for later.

Weather/traffic update

After a weekend of sunshine, we have another mild day in the Mid-South. Meteorologists Spencer Denton and Ron Childers say you can expect an increase of clouds and a slight chance for sprinkles later in the week.  And it's a day of service for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. Janeen Gordon has you covered when it comes to traffic. Tune into WMC Action News 5 at 4 p.m., 5 p.m., and 6 p.m. for the latest weather and traffic.

What we're working on

A protest threat to shut down I-40 never happened. Tonight at 5 p.m., WMC Action News 5's Jerry Askin investigates whether the protest was really a hoax or if there was just zero interest in the cause.  Then tonight at 6 p.m.,  a Germantown couple was kidnapped and robbed at their home.  WMC Action News 5's Michael Clark looks at this disturbing trend.
