SHELBY COUNTY, TN (WMC) -

A man was arrested after police say he set his girlfriend's trash can on fire at her Frayser home.

It happened around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 3200 block of Harvester Lane.

A woman called police saying her boyfriend, Lashun Johnson, refused to leave her house. When police were on the way, the woman called police again and said Johnson was setting her trash can on fire.

When police arrived on the scene, officers saw a fire near the back of the house. The officer tried to stomp out the flames, but had to call Memphis Fire Department for help. The victim's home sustained about $200 in damage.

According to the affidavit, the victim said Johnson ran from the scene. He was found by police in the backyard of a home in the 3200 block of Markley Street.

Johnson is charged with domestic assault and aggravated arson. He is due in court Wednesday morning.
