MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - A Memphis man, accused of beating a man with a crowbar over $20, will appear before a judge on an attempted first-degree murder charge.
The victim is recovering at Regional Medical Center after he says his girlfriend's brother attacked him.
James Warren is in Shelby County Jail, charged with aggravated assault and attempted first-degree murder. The victim told police Warren "tried to kill him with a crowbar" after the two argued over money.
The beating happened Monday night in Frayser at a home in the 3500 block of Mountain Terrace Street where the victim lives with his girlfriend, who is also Warren's sister.
Police say after the argument, Warren hit the man more than six times on his head and body with the crowbar.
WMC Action News 5's Jerica Phillips found that Warren does not have any previous violent arrests on his record.
He will face a judge in court Tuesday morning.
