Memphis City Council honors local MasterChef Jr. winner

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - A chef who isn't even old enough to drive is getting a big honor from the City of Memphis.

Tuesday, the Memphis City Council approved a resolution congratulating Logan Guleff for winning the MasterChef Junior competition on TV.

The 12-year-old boy won the competition in December 2014, pocketing $100,000.

"Doing all this community service, just making the city better is a great honor," said Logan Guleff during the city council meeting Tuesday. "I brought the trophy home to Memphis and I hope the Grizzlies can do it, too."

Mayor A C Wharton says he wished he had asked Logan for tips to spice up his morning oatmeal.
