MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Not all neighbors on Terry Circle in North Memphis know the devastated neighborhood family very well, but they feel terrible for them.
"I'm very saddened to hear about it," said neighbor Stephen Boggan. "It's very sad, and my heart goes out to them."
Police say a 6-week-old baby, who lived in the 1000 block of Terry Circle with his parents and at least one grandparent, suddenly passed away.
"I'm sure, I know that baby was in good hands," commented Boggan.
The baby's father flagged down a Memphis police officer just before 1 p.m. and told them his baby wasn't breathing.
The officer escorted them to Le Bonheur Children's Hospital where the baby was pronounced dead.
Neighbors say police questioned the father for at least an hour at his home.
A number of people came and went during the afternoon, but no one wanted to discuss what happened or the life that ended so young.
